If you have a laptop, start bringing it to class when you shoot and either buy a tether cord, so you can shoot straight to your computer, or bring your card reader, so when you are shooting you will be able to check your lighting in-detail. Many of your cameras show inaccurate information on the display. Checking your exposure and lighting set-up on your computer will ensure you have proper highlight and shadow detail.
