Mike Byrne

I have abandoned my idea of trying to find an 'average' American as it just seems kinda stupid to even try and find such a person. So I'm just taking the opportunity to shoot some portraits. I do however want to choose my subjects carefully. Most people have something interesting in their lives that helps to define who they are, I hope to explore that.

Lighting is fairly simple in this one. If I could shoot it again I would use a slightly softer light source as the key light and barn doors for the rim light. I would also play around with the exposures. This was shot exactly as the meter said but I think there is some room for improvement. Highlights aren't great, original seems to be a stop under and the highlights blow out when I life them in PS.
